Where Are They Now? Joseph Nane & Demitrius Omphroy

We here at POV-FS are always keen to spot former Toronto FC players – and there are quite a few of them – in our search for news.

In that spirit, Joseph Nane and Demitrius Omphroy have been named as preseason trialists for DC United as the club begins its training camp in Bradenton, Florida.

Nane, who was selected 53rd overall by TFC in the fourth round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, spent the last two seasons on the books of the Colorado Rapids, making 19 appearances and scoring a lone goal last year - though it was a beauty and the game-winner against hated Rocky Mountain Cup rivals Salt Lake.

Omphroy was selected 26th overall in the second round of the 2011 SuperDraft, playing only a single minute of league action that season, before being waived in November.

He spent 2012 with Filipino club Global FC and made his full international debut with the Philippines national side after representing both the US and Panama at the underage levels.

Some may remember him best for his appearance in a certain music video – will not be posted here, sorry – or for his tireless battle to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS) with which he is afflicted.

Supporting players – both past and present – is an important part of a club’s culture – none of that reject chant please - and we would like to wish both chaps the best of luck on trial with United; hope to see you back at BMO Field soon enough.
